We brought 36 senior leaders on a behind the scenes tour to experience and hear about Singapore Discovery Centre’s journey to become the first museum in Singapore to achieve net zero energy by 2023 and what it’s taken them to do so.
After a tour that included a floating platform walk to view the solar panels up-close on the floating pontoons, and experiencing parts of the centre cooled by mechanical ventilation that felt just like air-conditioning - the leaders also heard firsthand from those responsible for the innovation and sustainability of Singapore Discovery Centre in a fireside chat with Joseph Tan, Chief Executive of Defence Collective Singapore, and Teo Eng Dih, Chief Executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and former chairman of Singapore Discovery Centre. They shared generously and candidly about the considerations and challenges in the journey, how they overcame them, and even took questions from the floor.
Following that was another panel segment on ‘ What it really takes to start the journey towards sustainability’ with Monila Kothari, Board Advisor of Shandi Global and Tay Ee Learn, Chief Sector Skills Officer of NTUC Learning Hub.
We would like to thank the Singapore Discovery Centre for being our co-host in this Senior Leader’s Learning Journey!
